Start Uni Year 2 Tomorrow

I start back at Uni today, as its passed midnight, just checked my timetable. Looking forward to it but not as I have busted my knee while having a kick around and now I’m walking around on crutches :(

Not broken anything, but got to go back to hospital to see if I’ve fractured a ligament. So this means I can’t drive and I can’t really walk.

Good times!

I won’t be taking Learning and Innovation as the module has been cancelled, not enough people perhaps? Anyway I’ll be taking Fundamentals of Mobile Networks (I think its called that).

I hate the rain!

I had a little bump in the Astra today. A very common accident. I was coming back from the Showground heading on to a roundabout the car in front looked as if he was going straight in, but didn’t he stopped. He said he was but I think it wasn’t very confident with his new car. I didn’t stop in time however, I blame the rain.

Not much damage done to the other car, a 55 Focus just a small hole where a bolt had come out of mine and punched a hole but there is a bit more damage to mine. A bolt sticking out the front, love to know where that came from and a crack behind the number plate and the bumper seems to be sitting at an angle so I think the reinforcer behind the bumper is bent as well.

Great timing really, loan soon so I’m thinking that will pay for my damages but waiting on a quote from the other driver.

I suppose it could have been worse.

On the bright side Uni starts soon and I’ll be a welcome week rep for the freshers week, Training for it starts on monday so going back to Stafford sunday night!

Network and Grid Computing Module

I have just been comfirmed that I have been enrolled on a 5th module for semester 2 of my second year of uni. When I was looking at my options I thought I couldn’t take the module as both my options are in semester 1, however over the summer and talking it over with friends I found out I could take an extra module in semester 2 which would allow me to do Grid Computing.

This means I’m going to have alot of work to do in semester 2 so alot less partying eh?

So what is Grid Computing? Grid computing is a form of distributed computing where you have a super computer made up networked computers acting to preform very large tasks which require a lot of processing time. An example task would be rendering animations like Pixar movies.

However it is a long time before I start this module so stay tuned.

Reading 2008

Well I have finally got round to posting again, after Reading a few mates from back home came to Stafford to hang out and drink some beer, so now I’ve finally had a decent night sleep and recovered I’d say from the two festivals.

Reading was great, loved every minute, met some nice people in the crowd waiting for acts to come on stage and even though one of the tents got broken in to, we all had a great time and in the end the stolen bag was returned (another story).

Dizzee Rascal, Rage and Pendulum all rocked Reading for me, I had a mental time in the crowed for Pendulum. I also really liked Hadouken a band I’d never heard of before. I’m going to leave this now with a link to Hadouken’s highlights, can you spot me in the crowd?
